Giaa Manek had to pay a big price to participate in “Jhalak Dikhla Ja,” by quitting her popular show “Saath Nibhana Saathiya“, but sadly she couldn’t reach the top five in the dance reality show. Never mind, as she has got an opportunity to charm her fans with her magical tricks as Jeannie in “Jeannie Aur Juju“.
Giaa Manek rose to popularity for playing subservient daughter-in-law Gopi Bahu in show “Saath Nibhana Saathiya“. Giaa had to bid her introductory serial adieu due to the channel’s and her disagreement over participating in Jhalak Dikhla Ja Season 5.
Her journey of Jhalak Dikhla Ja was full of hardships and different dance forms and lots of fun; she earned a 30 on her aerial act and also some cameo dance roles in otherColors’ serials such as Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha and Balika Vadhu.
After her elimination from the show everyone was wondering what’s next in store for her?And not much time later she grabbed a role in “Jeannie Aur Juju”, an Indian adaptation of popular American show “I Dream of Jeannie”. Giaa has shed the traditional look and will be seen in harem pants and shimmering outfits.
In the show, Jeannie, who has been caught in a bottle for 2000 years tries to charm her saviour and the love of her life, Vicky, played by actor Ali Asgar on Sab TV!
Anooj Kapoor, Executive Vice President and Business Head, SAB TV hopes Giaa’s presence attracts viewers.
“With Giaa in the show, we’re sure to attract a huge audience to watch the show as she has a big fan following. Giaa’s innocence works for the character and Ali’s experience will enhance the show even further. The show is unique as it will have special effects and tricks that Jeannieperforms. The show will stick mostly to the original content and story of “I Dream of Jeannie“, originally created and produced by legendary author Sidney Sheldon.
So from saris to harems, from silent Bahu to a charming flirting Jeannie and most importantly from tears to smiles…only time will tell how this transformation will work for Giaa and the show. For now we wish her and Jeannie aur Juju all the luck!
